Realtime results uploading

In Judo Mobile version 4.0 we introduced the new way for uploading results.

Thanks to the direct connection between Judo Shiai and Judo Mobile Console we are able to develop new features that aren't possible with HTML results.

How it works?

Judo Mobile Console watches for changes in the main Shiai file that the tournament is running on and connects to Judo Shiai using TCP connection (similar to JudoInfo). It analyzes retrieved data and sends it to our server.

Judo Mobile app gets notified about any changes in few seconds so the results that user see are always up to date.

How to use?

Uploading results before tournament

1. Go to Results uploading tab in your tournament.
2. In Realtime upload section select the path to Shiai file that you want to upload.
3. Click Start uploading.

Uploading results during tournament

1. Ensure that you already start Judo Shiai.
2. In Judo Mobile Console go to Results uploading tab in your tournament.
3. Switch to Realtime upload.
4. Select the path to file that Judo Shiai is running on.
5. Type IP address of the PC where Judo Shiai is running.
6. Click Start uploading.

After tournament ends, click Stop.

tip

If you running Judo Mobile Console on the same PC where Judo Shiai, valid IP address is 127.0.0.1.

tip

We recommend you to start realtime upload when weigh-in starts. This way users will be able to see weighted competitors and report any weight issues before drawing.

Limitations

Realtime uploader currently supports the most popular category systems:

• Best of 3
• Pool
• Double Pool
• FIN Double Repechage
• EST Double Elimination
• Double Lost
• IJF Quarter Final Repechage

Teams tournaments are not supported.

When tournament contains at least one feature that is not supported, realtime uploader could not work.

tip

We recommend you to test realtime uploader using compatiblity check tool in Judo Mobile Console (on Account tab). Just upload your Shiai files from previous tournaments.

Files are anonymized before sending, so competitors data won't be accessible to us.

If your category system or Shiai file is not supported, please contact us. We will be happy to add support for your use case so you can also enjoy realtime results.

What categories are uploaded?

Realtime uploader has 3 category visibilities determined by category name.

tip

Hidden categories are useful for competitors who belong to the same age group but have not been assigned to weight categories yet. You can let the users see who they might face in the tournament before the draw is made.

Omitted categories are useful for competitors who are not present in the tournament. You can avoid showing absent competitors in statistics.
