Realtime results uploading
Thanks to the direct connection between Judo Shiai and Judo Mobile Console, results can be uploaded in real-time during the tournament with minimal delay.
How it works?
Judo Mobile Console watches for changes in the main Shiai file that the tournament is running on and connects to Judo Shiai using TCP connection (similar to JudoInfo). It analyzes retrieved data and sends them to our servers.
Judo Mobile app gets notified about any changes in few seconds so the results that user see are always up-to-date.
Benefits
As tournament organizer you get
- results uploaded to the server optimized for delivering realtime results
- one-step configuration of the uploader
- secure SSL connection between you, the server and the app users
- no need for manually generating results in Judo Shiai
Judo Mobile users
- always up-to-date results
- notifications about upcoming matches
- statistics updated in real-time
- live stream integrated into the app
- modern UI with easier navigation
How to use?
Uploading results before tournament
- Go to Results uploading tab in your tournament.
- In Realtime upload section select the path to Shiai file that you want to upload.
- Click Start uploading.
The results will be uploaded once, matches order will be omitted. You can perform such upload as many times as you want.
It is useful to upload registered competitors even a few days before the tournament.
Uploading results during tournament
- Ensure that you already start JudoShiai program with your tournament file.
- In Judo Mobile Console go to Results uploading tab in your tournament.
- Switch to Realtime upload.
- Select the path to file that JudoShiai is running on. It must be exactly the same file that is opened in JudoShiai.
- Type IP address of the PC where JudoShiai is running.
- Click Start uploading.
Now every change in the JudoShiai will be reflected in the app in few seconds.
After tournament ends, click Stop to finish uploading.
If you running Judo Mobile Console on the same PC where JudoShiai, valid IP address is 127.0.0.1
.
We recommend you to start realtime upload when weigh-in starts. This way users will be able to see weighted competitors and report any weight issues before drawing.
Limitations
Realtime uploader supports the most popular category systems:
- Best of 3
- Pool
- Double Pool
- FIN Double Repechage
- EST Double Elimination
- Double Lost
- IJF Quarter Final Repechage
Support for team tournaments is currently in beta.
When tournament contains at least one feature that is not supported, realtime uploader could not work.
We recommend you to test realtime uploader using compatibility check tool in Judo Mobile Console (on Account tab). Just upload your Shiai files from previous tournaments.
Files are anonymized before sending, so competitors data won't be accessible to us.
If your category system or Shiai file is not supported, please contact us. We will be happy to add support for your use case so you can also enjoy realtime results.
Supported JudoShiai versions
- 3.2 (deprecated)
- 3.3 (deprecated)

- 4.1
- 4.1.1
- 4.2
- 4.2.1
- 4.2.2
- 4.3
- 4.3.1

Support for future versions will be added as soon as they are released.
Older versions may have limited functionality, and their full operation is not guaranteed. Support for deprecated versions will be removed in the coming months. We recommend upgrading to the latest version of JudoShiai.
What categories are uploaded?
Realtime uploader has 3 category visibility states determined by category name.
Visibility | Applies to categories | Category | Competitors from this category | Use case |
---|---|---|---|---|
Ommited | Name starts with __ (2 underscores) | Not uploaded | Not uploaded | Absent competitors after weigh-in, excluding competitors from statistics |
Hidden | Name starts with _ (1 underscore) or ? category | Not uploaded | Uploaded (without category) | Age groups category before drawing, competitors not yet assigned to weight categories |
Visible | All other categories | Uploaded | Uploaded | All normal categories |
Hidden categories are useful for competitors who belong to the same age group but have not been assigned to weight categories yet (eg. _U15
).
Competitors are visible as not assigned to any category.
You can let the users see who they might face in the tournament before the draw is made and follow who has been already weighed in.
Omitted categories are useful for competitors who are not present in the tournament (eg. change _U15
to __U15
after drawing).
You can avoid showing absent competitors in statistics.
